Location.Hotel California is located in a residential neighbourhood of Sofia, Bulgaria, two kilometres from the centre of the city. The National Palace of Culture is two kilometres from the hotel, and the Central Railway Station is 600 metres away.
Hotel Features.This seven storey hotel features contemporary architecture and an ornately decorated lobby. Amenities include fitness equipment, a sauna and a hair salon. Wireless Internet access is available in the public areas, and tour assistance is also offered.
The Hotel California restaurant, Teacher Ivan's House, is decorated in the style of a traditional Bulgarian tavern and features an open fire. It serves a modern fusion of Bulgarian and European cooking. A complimentary buffet breakfast is provided, and hotel has a 24 hour bar.
Guestrooms.The 26 guestrooms, on seven floors, have separate sitting areas and balconies. All include air conditioning, satellite television and high speed Internet connections. Bathrooms have jetted tubs, bathrobes and designer toiletries.
Expert Tip.The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, three kilometres from the hotel, features a magnificent basilica with a golden dome. It is one of the most significant places of worship for Eastern Orthodox Christians around the world.

From Sofia Airport (SOF):
Distance to Hotel California is 11 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there.The number 84 bus runs to central Sofia, departing every 10 25 minutes between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. Tickets cost 0.50 BGL, and are available from the kiosks at bus stops. There is an additional fee per piece of luggage. Taxis wait outside the arrivals hall and cost approximately 5 EUR to the hotel. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around.Sofia's public transport system includes trams, an underground metro, buses, and trolleybuses. Tickets should be validated when boarding. Private minibuses are available, and run along fixed routes. Taxi fares are reasonable, but travellers should ensure the meter is used.
